October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but almost forgotten since the onset of the National Pandemic knowns as Caronavirus! It might be a good time to review what we can ALL do about Cancer right now? There’s one common thread amongst cancer survivors everywhere; Why Just Breasts?
October, before COID-19 hit, was the most popular brand of Cancer, but why? Do the others matter less or make less money? It appears that Breast Cancer, because it affects more women than men, and because it is rare for poor people to get the care they need, starting from the mammogram, it’s a good fit for commercialism – Like all the other wide-spread cash cows targeting women. We can do now about Cancer to honor everyone, regardless of which Cancer diagnosis.
Instead of focusing on Breast Cancer alone, this month, we are calling for A Cancer Revival – Get Up & Get Your Life Back Series! Kicking Off this Special Edition Cancer Series is Lady Jean Turner, the Urban Academics Chosen Visionary in HOT-Seat Number Seventy-one (71). She is cancer (Lung) survivor and is here to share her story of triumph and perseverance. Breast Cancer, for any survivor or family member, is sensitive. However, I too have questions around what makes breast cancer “appear” as the number one cancer type? In October, the entire world turns pink, which has little to nothing to do with its patients or victims.

Cancer vs Overall Health?
Cancer is a disease located on the inside of our bodies – We cannot see it, like an illusion, unless, of course, you or someone you know has been diagnosed with it. Moreover, having lived through it yourself or caring for and with someone makes it impossible to get over. Years later – After the diagnosis, chemotherapy, and radiation, the side effects linger on, sometimes indefinitely. Lady Jean is a board-certified nurse and Wholistic DO NOT Miss This Cancer Revival – Every Thursday in October, right here at Urban Academics.
Some definitions call it evil or a plague, and I’m sure we can all look at some of our experiences and equate them to “evil” on some level. Cancer is known to eat up a person’s inside organs, which causes death. Have you ever been in a relationship where you knew it was beating the life out of you, but for some reason, you continued in it (the relationship)? The same cycle your body will go through on the inside; The only difference is Cancer, in its purest sense, can kill you (murder)! While the cancers of this world, those are living outside of us, are merely making us feel like dying. There is a difference.
We can do about Cancer now to help others who are experiencing the effects of it, share our own experiences about it with the world, and allow GOD to heal us from the inside out. No one wants to endure Cancer of any kind, but please know, ALL Cancer Matters!
The Cancer Revival – Get Up and Get Your Life Back Series targets folks with health-related Cancer and the spiritual cancers that plaque the world daily with wars and rumors of wars. We can win the fight against Cancer if we stick together! Lady Jean Turner will share her “Lung” Cancer Story related to the work she is doing now. Please join us. There are even Breast Cancer Songs – You Can Listen or Download NOW!
