Description:  The BMI Future Jazz Master Scholarship is an annual competition open to rising jazz stars enrolled at colleges and universities nationwide. The award pays tribute to the artistic excellence of jazz pioneers while providing crucial support for emerging performers.

NEA Jazz Master judges convene a panel and votes on one winner based on the following:

  1. Evidence of Talent
  2. Potential as a Jazz Performer & Composer
  3. Availability to Attend BMI’s Annual Celebration of NEA Jazz Masters Fellows

Well-known Jazz Musicians like Ron Carter, Jack Dejohnette, Jimmy Heath, and Ahmad Jamal.

Apply for this scholarship, only if you are a full-time or part-time student attending an accredited college or university in the U.S. If you are currently in high school, this is NOT the application for you – NOT eligible.
