Coach Robert Saulsbury (New Haven, CT) is Chosen Visionary in HOT-Seat Number SEVENTY-EIGHT 81). He is a retired Head Coach, and the winningest coach ever at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, CT. He was the first African-American to coach on the high school level in the Elm City of New Haven. As Head Coach, Saulsbury led Wilbur Cross High School to nine state championships through a career that spans more than thirty years, and In 2014, the Cross High School gym was re-named in his honor. Saulsbury is in the Wilbur Cross and Hillhouse High School Basketball Hall of Fames. He started as a player at Hillhouse before starting his coaching career.
