Chosen Visionary in HOT-Seat SEVENTY-THREE (74) is Judith W. Watson (Mt. Vernon, NY). She migrated to the United States at seven (7) and settled into Whiteplains, NY, where she grew up. After high school graduation, she enlisted in the US Army stationed on Ford Island in Hawaii for three (3) years; Then joined the Army Reserves. She served actively in reserves for seven (7) years, ultimately achieving the rank of Sergeant E-5.

Queen Judith has served in many capacities during her tenure, including varying levels of nursing. She has served as the Executive Director at Greenburgh Health Center site and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center, all of which has led to her current CEO position. She’s a Breast Cancer Survivor and here to share it.

Queen Judith’s mom is also a breast cancer survivor, where she experienced firsthand mom’s struggle daily to get through the disease. As a Breast Cancer Survivor, she’s happy to say her double mastectomy was a journey to her dream of a beautiful pair of lady lumps (breasts) by way of implants due to her chosen surgery.

Watching her mom lose all her hair was the more challenging thing for her. A non-traditional breast cancer VICTOR in that she avoided chemotherapy, hair loss, and radiation treatment, a consolation prize along with her breast implants, which makes Queen Judith’s after cancer experience a great one to follow. Here’s a story worth sharing.

As a nurse, she recommends that everyone get the COVID-19 Vaccine and believes it to be in the best interest of everyone involved. In her role as CEO at Mt. “In 2021, an estimated 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 49,290 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. The exact cause is not known, and there is no cure; No vaccine. The risk factors include, but are not limited to:

  1. Age over 40
  2. Environmental Factors (exposure to radiations)
  3. Family History
  4. Hormonal Changes
  5. Lifestyle, including excess of alcohol consumption
  6. Long-tern contraceptive use
  7. Menarhe: Having periods at younger age and menopause at an older age

When Queen Judith M Watson is not Cancer and a Nurse, running around with the “S” on her chest with a cape flying behind her, saving the world, she is happy spending quality time with her higher power, who she calls GOD. She and her mother are inseparable, and her favorite aunt together is referred to as her parents.

George, her significant other for 11 years, and her friends and mentors – They help her get through everything. Time is limited, but when she finds time, she spends it with family and friends.
